  i just wanted to know why you chose your particular screen name and/or avatar.

  Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe in their own doctrine?

  do you think the majority of jehovah's witnesses actually believe in their own doctrine?

  do they honestly believe that the end is nigh?.

  you are supposed to donate money for publications you pick up at the kingdom hall - you put the money in the "worldwide work" box, not in the box for the local congregation. nobody controls that though. a good JW paid for the books he gives you.

  id like to know what personally convinced you jws are wrong about a particular doctrine/practice, that they are not gods true.people and/or what made you leave emotionally/physically.

  i never agreed on the birthday issue, i always thought that it doesn't matter if jesus died on a cross or on a stake and there were many other things, but 607 really did it for me.

  flaws and cruelty in the bible led me to reject it and center on the jesus character, but given that the jesus we know of spoke of all this noah's ark crap et al and the fact that the gospels contradict each other plus the many writings that were not included in the bible, i just trashed my faith and continue with my own life. after all, why would anyone else know more about some superhuman being than myself? once i even tried to sell my soul to the devil, but that's another lad you can't count on.

  they don't believe in doctrine, they are "waiting on jehovah" (aka "faithful and discrete slave" aka 8 old farts in brooklyn most of them don't even know). but they just know it's the truth. no matter what.

  Not Sure What I Believe In Anymore

  inside my head is a tangled ball of wool when it comes to what i believe.

  i have days where i believe in a creator and other days when i don't.

  then there are times when i refer to this as believing in 'something' but what exactly this something is, i have no idea.

  take your time. you could label yourself an agnostic for the moment if you feel comfortable with that. even if you later choose to believe or not believe in (a) god(s), you can still be agnostic.

  anyway, the "there must have been some higher something that started the ball rolling" is just a cop out on the more honest "i just don't know what happened, and probably nobody ever will".

  btw. if you find out that in daily life it doesn't really matter if you believe something or not, you might just leave it at that.

  i understand that the judge's book "millions now living will never die" has undergone a slight of hand change of title to "millions now living may never die.".

  where could i find the new title in print in any wt publication?

  i do not have a wt library anymore, and would like to show my mom how they have changed the name of the book in their references to it..

  interesting. for what i know this distinction wasn't made in the german translation, it's both "millionen jetzt lebender werden nie sterben".

  i sent my card back to the states and a year later my wife runs into one of them at the grocery store.

  gerrit lösch visited my congregation a few times when i was little, he just got appointed to the GB back then. everyone was in awe... talk about worshipping humans.

  most jws do not think.

  they feel.

  they are told a certain thing and they simply accept it or just don't care all that much what the real facts are.

  of course JWs think. but they are under thought control. so they just think as far as they can without touching their virtual border. once you overcome that border, you are free. maybe. many just fall for another scam or manage to live with the lie - but who is completely free anyway.
